If you’re looking for a great place to spend some quality time with your special someone while enjoying a beautiful city view and relaxing music, the Hep Five Ferris Wheel in Osaka’s Umeda area is a must-visit spot. It’s a perfect recommendation for couples traveling to Japan. I didn’t realize it at first, but due to my slight fear of heights, I was a bit nervous. However, the experience and the atmosphere are so unforgettable that it’s worth the little scare! In this post, I’m sharing my experience using the Hep Five Ferris Wheel ticket with the Amazing Pass in Osaka, one of the best spots to check out in Umeda. Let’s dive into the details!

1. How to Get to the Osaka Hep Five Ferris Wheel
The Umeda Hep Five Ferris Wheel is an iconic landmark in Osaka, so I thought it would be easy to find. However, the area around Osaka Station and Umeda Station is pretty complex, so I found the route a bit tricky. Here’s how to get there based on the nearest subway stations:
- From Hankyu Umeda Station (East Exit) – 3-minute walk
- From JR Osaka Station (Midosuji Exit) – 4-minute walk east
- From Subway Midosuji Line Umeda Station (Exit 11) – 4-minute walk north
- From Subway Tetsuyacho Line Higashi-Umeda Station (Exit 1) – 5-minute walk north
Although there are large signs in the underground passageways from Umeda or Osaka Station, the Hep Five entrance is a bit tricky to spot until you’re quite close. So, make sure you have a clear understanding of the exit and directions before heading out.
We initially went in the wrong direction and ended up at the HEP HALL instead of Hep Five, and we had to circle around a bit. But once you plan the route properly, you’ll be able to find the entrance without much hassle!

I did a quick comparison of ticket prices for the Hep Five Ferris Wheel on various travel platforms as of the blog post’s publication date. Since prices can change in real-time and may vary depending on discounts and coupons, I recommend checking prices on different platforms before purchasing.
1) Hep Five Ferries Wheel with Osaka Amazing Pass
I used the Amazing Pass, so I didn’t have to buy a separate ticket for the Ferris Wheel. You can skip the ticket booth and just scan your Amazing Pass QR code to get quick access. The staff will help you with the process, and you can go straight to the ride!
Pro Tip: You can also skip the line if you’ve bought tickets in advance.
3. Private HEP FIVE FERRIES WHEEL Views
Following the staff’s guidance, we boarded the red Ferris wheel. Since the wheel is constantly moving, I’d recommend waiting until after you disembark to take photos, as there’s a designated photo spot on the opposite side. It’s more convenient than trying to snap a picture while moving in a narrow area.
Each Ferris wheel cabin can accommodate up to four adults. Typically, even if you’re two people, you won’t share the cabin with anyone else, so you can enjoy the view in peace and have a private, romantic time with the Osaka skyline.
I’ll admit, at first, I was pretty scared of the height and the moving Ferris wheel, and I was telling my husband not to move, haha. But eventually, the gentle motion and relaxing music made it such a chill moment in the middle of our busy Osaka trip.
You can connect your music to the cabin’s Bluetooth speakers and enjoy a round with your favorite tunes. Before you know it, the ride ends, and you’ll be sad to get off!
If you’re looking to enjoy a stunning night view of Osaka privately during your trip, the Umeda Hep Five Ferris Wheel is perfect. You can also save some money by booking your tickets in advance!
