When I found cheap flights to Jeju, I couldn’t resist planning a quick getaway. My short itinerary meant staying two full days in Jeju City, and for this trip, I chose to stay at the 5-star MAISON GLAD JEJU. Here’s my honest review of the hotel, along with tips for your Jeju adventure. Oh, and I used the airport pickup/drop-off service for extra convenience—highly recommend it!

1. Why I Chose MAISON GLAD JEJU
Jeju City has plenty of budget-friendly hotels, but I wanted to treat myself to a 5-star experience without breaking the bank. MAISON GLAD JEJU stood out because it’s more affordable than 5-star hotels in Seoul. By comparing prices across booking platforms, I snagged a great deal. Since I booked on the same day as my stay, I scored a special deal on a Standard Twin Room. The usual weekend rate (Friday/Saturday) was around 95dollors, but I managed to book it for just 63dollors! Not bad for a 5-star experience, right?
2. Late Night Check-In? No Problem!
My flight landed in Jeju around 9 PM, and around 7 PM, I got a call from the hotel. “Hi! You have a reservation for tonight, but we noticed you haven’t checked in yet. Just confirming your plans!” Since it was a same-day booking and I hadn’t checked in by evening, they gave me a quick courtesy call. I explained that I was about to board my flight and would arrive around 10 PM. They noted it down and reassured me that everything was ready for my arrival. When I got there, the check-in process was seamless. Despite the late hour, the staff were friendly and efficient, which made a great first impression.
3. Standard Twin Room: Simple Yet Spacious
I stayed in the most basic room, the Standard Twin Room, but honestly? It didn’t feel “basic” at all! My first thought upon entering was, “Wow, this is spacious!”
Beds: Two super comfy single beds, perfect for a good night’s sleep.
TV: A flat-screen TV where you can log into your Netflix account (a nice touch!).
Workspace: A small table that doubles as a perfect spot for late-night snacks.
Convenience: There’s a charging outlet right between the beds—ideal for overnight phone charging.
Other amenities included lightweight pajamas, disposable slippers, and a mini-fridge stocked with free bottled water. However, snacks, toothbrushes, razors, and other items in the minibar are paid, so keep that in mind if you need extra toiletries.
4. Getting Around Jeju: Taxis and Tours
If you’re exploring Jeju, having a taxi service number saved is a game-changer. Jeju’s call taxis charge an extra 1,000 KRW for booking, so it’s good to know about this in advance. For larger groups, call vans are also available and worth considering.
For sightseeing, I highly recommend booking the Jeju Eastern UNESCO Sites Tour ahead of time. It’s a fantastic way to efficiently explore the island’s natural wonders, and many tour operators offer discounts for early bookings. There are plenty of activities to try on Jeju, and pre-booking them can save you both time and money. I’ll share more about these activities in my next post!
My stay at MAISON GLAD JEJU was everything I hoped for: luxurious yet affordable, with excellent service and a great location. If you’re planning to stay in Jeju City, this hotel is a solid choice for comfort and convenience.
Whether you’re relaxing at the hotel or heading out to explore Jeju’s beautiful sights, there’s plenty to enjoy on this stunning island. I can’t wait to share more about my adventures in my upcoming posts. Stay tuned!
