Although the weather was a bit chilly with occasional rain, I had an amazing time during my 3-day, 4-night trip to Taiwan!
While the area around Taipei Main Station wasn’t fully immersed in the year-end holiday atmosphere, I still had an incredible time exploring various restaurants and cafes, fully experiencing the essence of Taiwan.

1. CitizenM Taipei North Gate Hotel and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Din Tai Fung
For this trip, we stayed at CitizenM Taipei North Gate, and it was so convenient since we could walk to the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store, which has a branch of the famous Din Tai Fung restaurant. If you’re looking to taste some of Taiwan’s famous dim sum, xiao long bao (soup dumplings), fried rice, and more, a visit to Din Tai Fung is a must!
The secret to getting a quick seat at Din Tai Fung is to buy a set meal ticket in advance.
With this ticket, you can skip the long lines and enjoy the delicious food without the wait!

2. The Charming Libo Café in Zhongshan Café Street
After a hearty meal at Din Tai Fung, it was time to head to Zhongshan Café Street to indulge in some dessert. Zhongshan Café Street is full of photo-worthy spots with a charming atmosphere, and it’s lined with cute souvenir shops and boutique stores. This area is popular among both locals and tourists, making it an essential stop on any Taiwan trip.
1) Libo Café – Menu Recommendations
At Libo Café, I ordered a delicious tea latte and pudding. The café isn’t very big but offers a cozy and quiet environment, perfect for a relaxing break during the trip. We sat at a comfy sofa table and planned the next leg of our journey while sipping on our drinks. The chilly weather made the warm tea latte even more enjoyable, and it was the perfect pick-me-up!
3. Taiwanese Massage Shops Near Zhongshan Station
After spending some time at the café, I decided to unwind and treat myself to a Taiwanese massage to relax my body after the busy travel schedule. Taiwan is known for its amazing massage experiences, and I highly recommend trying one out, especially during the cold weather. We booked an appointment at a place called “Jai Chun Guan”, and it was super easy as all we had to do was show the QR code when we arrived. The process was very convenient, and the massage helped relieve all the travel fatigue. It was a great way to relax before moving on to our next adventure.
In this trip to Taiwan, we mostly followed a spontaneous itinerary, and that added a certain charm to the experience. The combination of a relaxing massage and the charming moments spent at Zhongshan Café Street allowed me to fully experience the unique charm of Taiwan.
This trip was the perfect mix of relaxation, good food, and cultural exploration, and I can’t wait to go back and discover even more of Taiwan’s charm!
