When visiting Taiwan, many tourists head to Taipei 101 to experience the breathtaking night views of the city. I was no exception, and seeing the nightscape from Taipei 101’s observatory was an unforgettable highlight of my trip.
If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend getting the fast-track admission ticket. It lets you skip the long lines and head straight up to enjoy the view. Plus, with the discounted pre-booking option, it’s incredibly convenient and satisfying.

1. Taipei Night Views: More Than Meets the Eye
Taipei’s skyline is truly spectacular, and it feels incomplete without including Taipei 101 in the frame. Viewing the city from the top of Taipei 101 is an experience that lets you see the entirety of Taipei at once, but there’s one small downside—you can’t see Taipei 101 itself from its observatory.
That said, I recommend combining this iconic view with visits to other scenic spots around the city to capture a more complete perspective of Taipei at night.
2. Taipei 101’s Must-Try Restaurants
For our anniversary celebration, we decided to dine at a restaurant offering both incredible food and views of Taipei 101. It turned out to be a perfect choice! The unexpected extras, like custom lettering on desserts and exceptional service, made this dining experience one of the most memorable parts of our trip.
However, the restaurant is on the pricier side, so I’d suggest visiting for special occasions to make it truly worthwhile.
1) Morton’s Steakhouse: A Dining Experience with a View
Location: 45th floor of the Breeze Xinyi building, right by MRT Taipei City Hall Station.
Navigating to the restaurant was surprisingly easy, as there’s a dedicated entrance and elevator separate from the office spaces in the same building. Once we arrived, we were greeted with a gallery of photos showing celebrities who had visited the restaurant—an intriguing little bonus!
2) Special Anniversary Services
What made this dinner so extraordinary was the attention to detail. Even though we didn’t have high expectations when we mentioned it was our anniversary, the restaurant went above and beyond. We were seated at a window-side table with stunning views of Taipei 101, and the staff surprised us with a personalized postcard, a lit candle, and a dessert featuring beautiful lettering.
The final touch? A “Happy Anniversary” message on my dessert. It was such a heartfelt gesture that left us completely moved.
3) Price
Expect to pay around NT$3,989 per person, plus a 10% service charge. The cost includes a full course meal with plenty of food to enjoy while soaking in the city views.
The warm service stood out as well—despite being dressed more casually than I’d initially planned, we were treated with the utmost hospitality. For our main course, we paired our steak with a bottle of red wine, which was delightful and enhanced the romantic ambiance of the evening.
4) The Meal: What to Expect
Appetizers & Bread
After ordering wine, we kicked off the meal with fresh bread and butter—served warm and generously portioned. For appetizers, I chose the oyster, while my husband picked a shrimp dish. The oyster, paired with three different sauces, was delicious, though the single portion did catch me off guard.
Soup & Salad
Next up was the soup or salad course. My husband went for the Caesar salad, while I chose the tomato bisque. While the salad was decent, the bisque stole the show—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. It paired beautifully with the wine and is a must-try!
Main Dishes & Sides
For the main course, we each ordered a steak and shared sides of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The portions were generous, and the steak was cooked to perfection. Having visited Molton’s Steakhouse in Macau before, I can confidently say the Taipei 101 location surpasses it by miles in both flavor and service.
Dessert
The meal ended on a sweet note with dessert. While my husband’s dessert was standard, mine arrived with the anniversary lettering. The thoughtful surprise made this dining experience even more special.
3. Another Great Choice: A Joy : Taipei 101 Sky Buffet
饗 A Joy” is located on the 86th floor of Taipei 101. Its space design integrates Taiwan’s topography and culture.
Buying the ticket in Klook is worthwhile as they help with the booking of the restaurant and reservation is definitely shown in the restaurant as well. the ticket include any deposit which is required by the restaurant. definitely worth to go to this restaurant to enjoy the view of Taipei 101!
Whether it’s enjoying the night views from Taipei 101’s observatory or celebrating a special occasion at a fine restaurant, your trip to Taipei can be elevated with just a bit of planning. Don’t forget to pre-book your tickets and dining reservations—it’s the easiest way to avoid long waits and guarantee a memorable experience.
Taiwan massage and Taiwanese cafe street information will also be very helpful for traveling.
So, why not indulge in something extraordinary on your next trip? After all, those little luxuries are what turn great trips into unforgettable adventures.
