Taiwan Massage Recommendation: The Village Spa Review

Taiwan Massage Recommendation: The Village Spa Review

If there’s one thing that’s a must during a trip to Taiwan, it’s the “daily massage.” After all, what better way to wind down after a day of sightseeing? We visited Taiwan in November, and the chilly, windy weather had us craving a warm, cozy spot to relax and unwind.

Now, my husband isn’t typically into massages, but Taiwan changed his mind. The affordability and quality of massages here are hard to resist, and by the end of each day, we found ourselves at a massage parlor to recharge.

1. Our First Taiwan massage : Too Intense!

On our first night, we went to the popular Zai Chun Guan massage parlor, known for its strong foot massages and acupressure techniques. I absolutely loved it—it was a 10/10 experience for me. My husband? Not so much. Since he’s not used to strong pressure massages, he found it too painful to enjoy.

This led us to look for a gentler massage option the next day, and that’s when we discovered The Village Spa. Known for its Japanese-inspired interiors and relaxing Swedish massages, this upscale spot seemed like the perfect choice.

2. Taiwan Massage, The Village Spa

1) Japanese-Style Luxury, Open Until 3 AM

While Zai Chun Guan had a more traditional Chinese vibe, The Village Spa felt like stepping into a luxurious Japanese inn. The serene ambiance, warm lighting, and spacious interiors made it instantly inviting.

Another perk? The spa is open until 3 AM, making it the perfect way to end a night after exploring Taiwan’s bustling night markets. It’s also a great option if you prefer a massage that’s more about relaxation than intense pressure.

2) Affordable Packages With Premium Service

We booked a 130-minute session that included:

A 120-minute Swedish massage
10 minutes of foot spa
Additional therapies like ear candling and hot stone massage
A post-massage treat: cookies and warm longan tea
All this for just about ~$85 USD.

We reserved through Klook, which made the process super easy.

With their lowest-price guarantee, we booked with confidence, and checking in at the spa was a breeze—just show your QR code, and you’re good to go.

3) Our Experience at The Village Spa

After checking in, we headed upstairs to a cozier part of the spa. I noticed something surprising: quite a few European visitors! My guess is that they, like my husband, prefer gentler massages over the intense pressure styles Taiwan is often known for.

The first part of our session was a foot spa. Warm water mixed with sea salt helped ease the tension in our legs. The foot massage that followed was just the right amount of pressure—not the intense, painful kind, but a soothing, relaxing experience. They even included light exfoliation and foot cream to finish things off, which my husband appreciated.

Next, we moved to separate massage rooms for the main session: a 2-hour Swedish massage with ear candling and hot stone therapy.

The Swedish massage was everything we hoped for—gentle yet effective in releasing tension. The hot stones were a game-changer on a chilly day, adding warmth and comfort to the experience. The ear candling therapy was a first for me. It was so calming to focus on the soft crackling sound in my ears, and it’s said to help with stress relief.

Once our session was over, the staff treated us to cookies and warm longan tea. The cookies looked simple but turned out to be surprisingly delicious—a delightful way to wrap up the experience.

While Zai Chun Guan was more my style, The Village Spa won both of us over. Its gentle approach made it a perfect fit for my husband, and I loved how rejuvenated I felt afterward. If you’re in Taiwan and looking for a taiwan couple massage that prioritizes relaxation and premium service, The Village Spa is a must-visit. If you’re planning a trip to Taiwan, check out Taipei 101 Observatory, restaurants, souvenirs, desserts, and more information in advance.

This is my honest taiwan massage review. We’re already planning to go back next time we’re in Taiwan!
